Subject: adding a graphics card, will it be of value?

East central Iowa

Working on a Lenovo desktop computer, specifically Lenovo IdeaCentre K320 (5316
I looked at the motherboard and it appears that the PCIe 2.0 X 16  slot is for a graphics card.  I've installed 8GB of ram(all it will use) and a 500GB SSD.  The computer is used some for making and editing short video.  I've been led to believe that a graphics card would be superior for that purpose to the integrated video.
I'm pretty ignorant about that aspect of computers.
I hate to spend a ton of money on a video card that gamers use and find it does nothing for my purpose.  I've seen cards below a $100 and some for a little more than that.  I'm not going to spend $400 or more for a video card, I just wouldn't get that much good out of it.
Do any of you have any experience or recommendations for this computer and the use I've mentioned?

Running Windows 7
