Subject: STO first bean stand Pics.

Good evening, just thought I'd post some pics of the first field/first year of row crops we've ever planted. Field was planted with a Kinze 6/11, model 2000. Population was set at 139,000 and final stand is about 125,000 + or - roughly, and I was shooting for a 1.5" seed depth...I just need to work on staying off the old corn rows and I'll have a better stand..LOL. back 6 rows came up awesome with the row cleaners clearing the way, front 5 rows is ok if I stay off the old stalks..started with coulters and quickly took them off and tossed in the shed, hairpinning way to bad, and just went to the seed disc openers..(curious about what y'all think about running row cleaners on front 5 rows next year, other than it will toss the front rows trash on the back) Was planted 3 weeks ago yesterday. Rain for the first few weeks was next to none, that's why I planted 1.5" depth to get in the moisture and we got a total between 3 different showers last weekend of 1.7 inches. I soil sampled this past fall to get a idea of What conditions the ground was in. Hog manure was always applied the last 10 plus years in a rotation before the corn was planted by the previous farmer. All I had to do was apply lime and a bit of potash.
