Eastern Shore of MD | What to do with the info is the million dollar question everyone has been asking. Really, you just need to go out with your phone to georeference that image and identify what the problem actually is. Dark reds look really bad but don't always correlate with a yield disaster as you would think at first sight.
When you walk, you may see a thinner stand or less healthy plants. Those 'crop health' images are tuned to exaggerate the variation in a field. That's really a good thing. Take tissue and soil samples and see if any deficiencies correlate with what showed green and what showed red. Keep in mind soil types and historical yield trends in that field and see if it's typical or not.
I have almost always derived interesting data from my DD images but I can't say it's ever really been 'actionable' as in I learned I needed 30# N or something. | |
