Subject: Re: Notill bean questions

I am starting to no-till also, beans heve been no-tilled two years and corn one year. I am about 50% no-till now and hope in the next couple of years to be 85%. I haven't decided if I will need to chisel after i chop corn, it can compact the field alot to chop silage and it would also be a good time to work in lime and manure.

On two of my fields that are right by the road and have a nieghbors conventional tilled field beside them, my dad made the coment this spring that, "the neighbors field sure looks nice." Well after an extremly dry summer I have to say that my fields look quite a bit better. It doesn't matter what they look like they just have to produce and profit.

Farmin' ugly,

Nathan
