Subject: boom switch on Trimble Field IQ

Where Lewis and Clark finished the rum
My boom switch on FIELD IQ has gone sketchy. It is a C&K 7107... probably a "T" or "L" as it has a longer handle. (Digikey says 9 week lead time)... IT is a single pole, double throw, Momentary, OFF, ON switch that is worth about $6.
Trimble dealer says I have to buy whole new box... he's getting a price. Just a guess, but >> $6,
So I pulled wires out and am thinking I'm going to put in a "remote" switch.
I can make the momentary part work, by shorting momentary and common poles, but when I try to do the same with the "boom on" position, I get nothing... looks like maybe i need a ~~3.3K resistor????
Anyone have any advice??

thanks in ADVANCE!!
