The answer to the question depends on what you are trying to do with the data you get. For example, for the boundry, almost any differential corrected is likely to be more accurate than a planter monitor, etc. A CF type though could be off by 5ft, although this error should somewhat cancel itself out for figuring acres.

For soil sampling it depends on if you are going to try to mark exact locations to go back and resample in subsequent years. I have done mostly management zone (region) sampling, and the CF type GPS is more than accurate enough to keep me in the right zone. I also understand that most doing "point" type samples park the vehicle and take core all around the vehicle, so I would think the CF GPS would again be accurate enough.
