Northwest Iowa | Those out of the money calls are a better sell than buy. Don't want to sound harsh but the reality is that no matter how bad the crop is, there will be new crop beans for sale in fall. It is seasonal if nothing else that there is a break heading into harvest. The shortest the supply will be is July-August. Some crushers close down in August for repairs and updates. Why not buy a call in the July or August contract and get closer to the money? Might have to trade out of it a time or two. One thing I look at is if the value doubles, liquidate the position and purchase a higher strike call to protect some of the profit. | |
