Anamoose, ND | I think a good chunk of old crop was moved in our area. Elevators in the NE quarter of the state had some good bids and bigger protein premiums this past winter. The guys that had really poor yields had less bushels to move but what they did have was really high pro. I have talked to some that had a net price of $7.00. Those elevator stayed pretty busy I think with guys hauling from the high pro areas.
All this talk of $25 wheat brings back fun memories...............the only wheat I sold at that time was one semi load worth $22,000. I no more than received the check in the mail and the elevator called to tell me their was a book keeping error on a storage ticket and the wheat actually belonged to my uncle. It sure was tough handing that check back to the elevator manager! | |
