We don't have our own trucks and so all of the trucking is hired out. So for us may and june works good until its time to clean out the bins.
Feel I must say that we have found June 20th can be near the high of the marketing season many years, many times good overall weather will take corn prices down into harvest from that date...A weather scare will take the corn market up, after June 20th however....Here a mid June forward sell for delivery in September, December, and January-February has worked well most years...January-February are usually hedge-to-arrive at our Newburgh Ohio River Terminal, have grown fond of the folks there.
The split between September-December, and Jan-Feb evens out good production-low production years and helps with income taxes as well, half each year. |
