Subject: Really?.....

Farmington, Mo
....Maybe the onlt good thing about having livestock is you have other work to do so you don't weather worry as much...

Having cattle and grain just makes me worry about weather all year as opposed to just the growing season!!!

Winter: too cold or wet for calving/feeding...I.e. Mud/frozen calves/pneumonia

Spring: too cold/wet/dry for obvious reasons

Summer: too hot and dry, crops and cattle. Worry about occasional storms blowing stuff around, corn, tree limbs, buildings. Why is it that trees always seem to fall on a fence?

Fall: too dry, stock water and wheat seeding. Too wet, harvest. Wind....crop damage. Too cold, grass growth and wheat establishment.....

Sheesh I think I need a drink! About the only weather that doesn't cause me concern is cool and dry winters....until stock water gets short....
