NW Iowa | Eagles have to be pretty darned weatherproof to survive sitting in that nest during late winter and early spring. There is an eagle nest about two miles away from where I live. Lately I have wondered what the inside of that nest looks like after 16” of snow in a four day period of time. This morning when I was moving snow on the creek bank an eagle came flying in low to my left looking for food in the creek. It must have been 50 feet from the tractor. I’ve never seen one that close in the wild. | |
