When I turned 50 in 2013 I put off getting a colonoscopy until July of 2014. No symptoms and felt fine. When I came to they told me they found something suspicious and went ahead and did surgery that day. Turned out to be stage 3A colon cancer. Everyone needs to have a colonoscopy at 50 if not sooner.
