| In 2016 there were 37,461 deaths caused by automobiles, 840 cyclist killed, and not a blip on the radar about it. An airplane has an extremely rare un-contained engine failure that kills one, and its all you hear about. Aviation has a absolutely stellar safety record compared to most other transportation methods. I guess that's why it garners so much attention....its so rare. | |
