I hope last year was a fluke on corn. Blah.

Planting is easy.

As a one man band, harvest is where I struggle to keep up. Went from a 4 row gas combine with 90 bu hopper and 2 220bu gravity boxes, to a 6 row 200 bu combine and assorted gravity wagons at 1400bu on wheels, and it's still hard to make a full round, hard to keep the grain hauled away, hard to make a dent in the acres in a harvest day.

Tile and variable rate better fertility program has really upped my acres. Last year I was commenting to town friends, I'm hauling 2.5 times as many bu of grain off an acre of ground as dad did, and that wasn't all that long ago. Part of that is he did a lot of beans, I do a lot of corn, but still quite an increase.
