Question 1 - going to need some fill to make sure it’s up plenty high, not going to take a whole lot of fill so probably just use whatever the final surface should be, rock, clay, lime?
Question 2 - 18ft pole barn with side steel down maybe 6 ft or hoop. My loader can only stack 3 high so can’t see using the extra height of a hoop without adding in the cost of a telehandler. Pole barn from lumberyard is 10% cheaper and can build ourselves over the summer. Don’t know about building a hoop but could probably do it.
I am leaning pole barn but want to make sure there is something I’m not missing. Round 5x6 bales. Also by spring should be mostly empty to run pairs into for April/May snowstorms.
