| Trump's $50 billion in tariffs won't finish the public comment period until sixty days following April 6th. For some unexplained reason the government extended the normal 30 day period to 60 days. Since the Chinese have said they will hold off their tariffs on soybeans until they see what happens with trump's tariffs, the hammer will probably fall sometime in June. You might want to continue your protection a few weeks longer if you think the US will really levy the tariffs.
On the other hand, it's just as likely that in sixty days, the trade war talk may be all forgotten.
Given that Abe came to talk TPP this weekend, things may look completely different by Friday. | |
