Agree with Jim. Soil makes a big difference, no till to tilled is app 1" in height change I believe.

I would also suggest checking the thread adjustment "friction". We had some older Dawn screw adjust ones, before they put a grease zerk in that spot, where the adjustment pretty much froze up and you couldn't turn them. Took them all apart, drilled, tapped and inserted a zerk, just down a little from the top. You have to pretty much disassemble the thing though, drop the yoke down, drive out a roll pin, remove yoke, drill, etc., etc, reassemble. Later ones have a zerk there from the get-go.

Better now than in a week-ten days.
