It controls the heat. Aimed up tank might contribute to this. Price replacing the gas valve and replacing the entire water heater. If the valve costs half of a new one just bite the bullet and replace it.
If you do replace it, before you put it in remove the stupid drain valve. Replace it with a pipe nipple and a quarter turn ball valve (same size or bigger than the pipe nipple) Every month flush the lime out of it. it will last a lot longer and perform better. |
