I have tried the pry bar method, but I have always found that small inconsistencies in the dirt can make the prybar track to one side as much as an inch or more. It is important that I get the roll cal right so that I don’t end up incorporating any roll cal error into my equipment offset for the planter. I have run into this before and it can be very frustrating.

Put a 1" piece of ready rod through the hitch pin hole, just long enough to scratch a line in the dirt. Nuts and washers on top and bottom to lock it in place, and you have an upgraded version of the prybar method, which should provide better performance.
