Subject: RE: setting swath width

Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn.
As a Tech I was asked this question several times especially with planters and the outside gap. My answer was "How far do you want the tractor to move over for the next pass?" The customer would usually say 30' for a 12-30" planter but what about the gaps on the end?

I would then draw it out on a piece of paper. You will have 11 spaces between the 12 rows which are 30" apart with an extra 15" on the left end and an extra 15" on the right end. Putting this together gives: (11 x 30") + 15" + 15" = 360" or 30'. They would usually believe me then.
