Water in an antenna?

I think that when the antenna has water in it what would it hurt to drill a small hole or holes in the bottom of the plastic and drain the water out. Let it dry out and try it out to see if it works. Seal the holes with electronics safe silicone. I tried it out on a couple and got one to work.
