central ohio | We recently had a repairman out to fix our washer and dryer. While talking with him I brought up dependability of different brands from the view of a repairman. He basic advice is to definitely stay away from LG and Samsung. Try to stick with the American made appliances. Whirlpool here in Ohio still builds lots of appliances under different brands. I believe Frigidaire and Kitchen Aid are under their umbrella. We just bought a Maytag fridge a few months ago. They are American made also. I agree with some of the other comments about keeping it simple. The more electronics the more possible problems. And those problems are the ones that are expensive to fix.
And stay away from GE appliances. Rights were bought out by Chinese company and they are turning out crap under a good name.
