East central Iowa | I've set up a virtual system with XP for a farmer that uses an old bookkeeping program. He will need to print a report once a year so it doesn't have to be a fancy printer but I believe it will have to hook up via USB. I have a Brother wireless and when I looked at their site I discovered a printer driver for my MFC-J870DW but only if it's connected via a cable.
Please don't suggest he upgrade the business program, that's $350 and then there's the learning curve. What he has works just fine and it's straight forward unlike so many new programs. Plus he likes it.
I got everything working now except the printer function. The program is PCMARS and if it would print to a file then that file could be sent to the Win10 host and printed but I haven't found a satisfactory way to do that.
So, either I need to find a printer that has XP drivers or a program that will emulate a printer that prints to a file that's printable from Win10.
Suggestions? (other than get a new program) |
