Make sure the motor wheel is not slipping on the steering wheel. I was having similar problems with my 4-WD, drifting off-line. I asked about it on this forum and several people suggested slippage. I was sure that wasn't occurring, but I tightened things up a bit, wiped the wheel down with alcohol and many of the problems dissapeared. Also, your remark that you don't get 'Disengage" when you turn the wheel also suggests that the motor is slipping. Good luck.
