As GPSDude said, 2 or 4 gig work best. Another trick is to put it in your computer and format it. Do a complete format. There is a box at the bottom of the format screen Quick Format, take the checkmark out. Lastly try inserting it prior to starting the monitor.
Trimble's TMX2050 isn't near as particular about memory sticks as the FMX was.
