I agree it's more work in my opinion. I discourage client's from using it because it seems like that's always where a bunch of issues come from that I'm asked to fix. If someone has a LOT of repetitive small transactions maybe it's worth it but then there are better ways to handle that also...again IMO. I did try it once years ago on my own personal books and hated it immediately.
