Embarrass WI | My Opinion would be that you could do it but you wouldn't be happy with the results. The potatoes will be dried out somewhat and won't mash well.
If it was me, I would boil them in their own kettle. Even if that was another crock pot.
I've eaten a lot of potatoes made in a crock pot with the meat, I just mash them with a fork on my plate. Usually they have been swimming in the meat juice while cooking. I think they are good that way. | |
