Orbi has a current cap of 3 satellites + the base station. Industry rumor says the 3 satellite limit is being expanded

Linksys Velop, Amplifi HD-2018, Google WiFi and Eeros do not have limits on how many satellites you can add.

This 20 minute video show compares these systems - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tc1P2M47nYE

If you choose the Orbi, you hook up the base station to your point-of-presence for your internet the same as you would any plain-Jane/Joe router. With the base hooked up and running, go to the center of your home (presuming that's NOT where your POP/base-station is located) and power-up the satellite station. If the Orbi flashes a "blue" light after a few minutes of self-configuring, there is a solid, strong signal between it and the base.

If the satellite flashes an "amber" light, it's seeing the base station, but it's wanting to have a stronger signal, so you may try a different, closer location.

If the satellite flashes "magenta" - it isn't seeing any sign of the base station, and won't work until you move it closer.

Here is a 6 1/2 minute video showing the installation steps needed for a typical mesh set-up.

Here is a Q/A on how many satellites (three) can be in the same system as one base
