There is a sliding part with lugs on it that engages into the gear you are shifting. If the lugs are wore or tapered, it will pop our of gear. We had a 910 10 speed that wouldn't stay in 9 th gear, it had too many miles driven in 9 th gear. You might check and make sure the part with lugs on engages far enough into the gear you are shifting into.
