Subject: RE: 7000 drive chain springs

Schlegel Farms, Hagerstown Indiana
2577 - 3/24/2018 15:15

I planted thousands of acres with a 7000 then a 1750 with that style of drive, never had any problems, something has to be worn or out of line. The few times a chain did come off was a corn stalk caught in chain. I did have the optional shields on both planters, made a big difference.

Are the shields you are referring to number 3 in the picture....it says they are used with a furrower.

I have trouble keeping a chain on with my bean splitter planter that runs in standing corn stalks.
