Subject: picking crop maturity behind covercrops

central kansas
Here in kansas went to some of the notill covercrop meetings this winter and am reminded now that
one speaker recommended planting shorter season maturity crops behind covercrops . Can't remember
what his thinking was behind this. Prob the biggest benefit would be longer time for covercrops to establish
and mature but was wondering what some of the other benefits could be in a notill covercrop situation.
Are there any thoughts or experiences on this?
