Subject: Stationary Flow Meter - recommendations?

Hartsville, IN
We are upgrading to a 3" transfer pump at our fertilizer dyke and need a 3" flow meter. I'm looking for a flow meter that is weather proof since this is NOT indoors. If I have to, I could probably rig some sort of box to cover the flow meter/display if need be. But then it would have to be able to withstand freezing temperatures.

The 2" flow meter we used was a Banjo magnetic type which seemed to be very accurate. However, the photo-cell style 'buttons' were not very reliable. Half the time guys were unable to turn it on or reset it b/c of this. Now it doesn't work at all after keeping it inside all winter and replacing the batteries. I'm looking for something more reliable than the Banjo flow meter.

AgroChem priced me a MicroTrac flow meter and digital display for $1900. I was looking for something less costly.

Does anyone have recommendations for a good reliable and reasonably priced 3" flow meter?
