Sure, with a few considerations. $5.00+ picked up off the farm and you get all the quality premiums, so this year you better have soft white to achieve that. Do all your own application because this calls for a lot of trips across the field. At least $7.00 a pop, that adds up fast. Mind your costs and pay attention to details. Year out seed helps and decent fertility and drainage is critical.

Figure @ $300/acre in inputs not counting depreciation and repairs.. . Taxes and rent are kind of a wild card. Doesn't leave a lot of room for screw ups or do overs!
