King City, Mo
Where are they buying their melon starts?

I’ve got 400+ tomato plants, 400+ pepper plants, Tray of broccoli, Tray of cauliflower, and tray of lettuce coming to see how that works he’s starting from seed. I looked for watermelon starts and didn’t find any from 2-3 suppliers.

A water wheel transplanter is on the want list for 2019. Hopefully the Mgmt will be big enough to drive the tractor while I ride and plant for them. Sucks being the low man on the totem pole. Lol.

I Didnt have much luck getting watermelon and cantaloupe stand last year as we direct seeded them with a planter similar to my 2 row.

So this year I bought 3# of OP watermelons and 1-2# of cantaloupe seed as I’m gonna plant early and plant often till I get a stand. I’m clay soil and read they need a sandy soil to thrive......but this is what I got....
