Southern MN | I would like to try the plastic for our sweet corn as well, but probably wont be set up for this year yet. How wide of plastic are you using? Are you planting 30" rows?
I was watching some youtube videos of guys up in Canada. One looked like he put his row cleaners down so it left a 3-4" trench. Then when he covered it with plastic there was airspace above the row for the corn to grow, kind of a mini greenhouse. He punched small holes in the plastic as he laid it. I suppose you are able to leave the plastic on longer.
