Southeast PA | You may have a demand charge that kicks in for that billing cycle once you start the motor up.
For a 1200 cow dairy, the bill goes up like $15,000 for the month once they run the fans for even 1 day. The electric Co charges that because they need to be able to meet that demand.
Depending if you have that charge, it may pay to see when the billing cycle starts and wait to pump so you don't have to pay that charge if you happen to be on the last day or 2 of a cycle. Then you don't get hit with a whole months demand charge for a day or 2s use.
