Subject: Electric looks good there....

Fairbury, NE (Southeast)
If your KW/hour rate is 5.5 cents there you would be wise to get out of any diesel units. . A electric motor will have a 40 year lifespan vs a 15-20 yr diesel with all the headaches associated therein....Here we will have a "horsepower" charge before you even kick the well on. Usually amounts to 4-6 bucks an acre. Then you have the KW/Hr charge. Typically will see a $40-50/acre charge on that, applying 6-8 inches. Diesel here is typically similar in cost but much less convenient..no oil changes never run out of fuel, no coolant issues/maintenance, etc.
