Subject: RE: depends on cost

North Central Illinois
We have a drainage district, and I have a 12" main that went in sometime before the 50's. But that's the only outlet for about 400 acres. Trouble is, I am almost 2 miles from the top of the ditch. I do kinda wish they had cut the ditch another mile closer a century ago.

I think putting in a new bigger outlet for myself will pay back over the long term, it certainly wouldn't pay back in less than 10 years, once I add the cost of laterals and sub mains.
