SC WI | Drought tolerant hybrids, less inputs, split nitrogen, cheap rents, less bushels to handle, less to dry, less to store, it's all relative honestly, look down at the thread about $100k for 160 acres, I don't have that worry, good bad or in different. County average is 112 corn & 33 beans I think.
I often wonder what drove my great grandfather from Poland to central Wisconsin and wish he would crossed the Mississippi river and maybe someday my kids will wonder why I didn't either while land was still "cheap" (looking back in the future) but on the bright side it's not all that competitive and still able to scratch out a profit. | |
