| Anyone in Northern Illinois know a GOOD place that knows Ford 7.3's?
I'm going to call Mid America Diesel in the Quad Cities, but I'd like some opinions on what to do with my 1996 7.3. It has a few 'issues'.
Mainly when it's cold outside it blows white smoke like a freight train at startup (bleow 50 degrees), and has 0 power until it blows it all out. Sometimes it takes a minute or two.
Also it stutters or hiccups frequently, like it loses ignition power for just a tic, then catches itself and runs again. Similar to a bad cam sensor, but I have replaced that twice now with zero change in the symptom.
My suspicions are bad valve cover gaskets and tired injectors.
It was once a spray truck, bought at auction, unknown miles. There is an hour meter on it with over 4k hours. | |
