Subject: RE: Activations

NESD

Receivers have always been SF1 ready right out of the box so nothing more was needed to have signal to AutoTrac, for more accuracy the receiver could be up graded to SF2 which would then require a subscription in order to get the SF2 signal, from there the receiver could be upgraded again to RTK, no more subscription needed but will likely be paying to use a dealer network.

Displays (1800, 2600, 2630) used to need a SF1 or SF2 AutoTrac Activation to match the accuracy level of the Receiver, a few years ago Deere did away with the SF1 and SF2 activations and made it simply an AutoTrac Activation so that it worked with any level and then the receiver dictated the accuracy level for AutoTrac,  SF1 or SF2 could be upgraded to AutoTrac for a small activation fee.

The 4600 Gen4 is different in that now all activations once installed in the server cannot be removed from the server, they stay with the server for life. the activations (AutoTrac, Section Control, Etc are considerably less expensive than the previous activations for a 2600/2630

The 4640 Gen4 is different again in that the activations are no longer purchased, they are on a subscription basis, they are either 1 year or 5 year subscriptions.

Let the flaming begin !!
