Subject: RE: Need help from Onion growers.

These are for home garden use I'm not going for full scale production at least not yet :-)

I planted a bunch of the Rural King onion sets last year and just finished up using those in meals a few weeks ago. They were really good, had good flavor and lasted well but were just not very big. I was looking for something that would get a lot bigger and wanted to try some of the sweeter onion styles. Ordered these from Gurneys and had a coupon for 50% off but that is sort of looking like a mistake at this point. Figured a little later planting would let them grow all summer long and pull them about the end of August or first of September and those would carry through the winter. Will keep planting the RK onion sets for fresh green onions all summer long.

Any advice on how deep these should be planted ? Seems the sets no matter how deep you place them tend to heave out of the ground ad the top of the bulb is partially exposed.

Can you buy small scale from Dixondale or is there a minimum order size.
