Subject: Need help from Onion growers.

Have just always planted onion sets (bulbs) in the past.

This year I ordered some different ones to try that would grow larger in size and are supposed to be sweet.

They were only available as seeds or as bunches of plants.

Just got email notice that they have been shipped and will be here end of the week.

Right now there is light snow on the ground and the ground will be frozen in the morning with highs forecast tomorrow of 35°and lows in the 20's yet.

I really had no intention of planting these until at least mid April.

Apparently it's the right time for my planting zone according to their customer service rep on the other side of the globe and the shippers in Texas ?

Will these stay dormant until I am ready to plant them ? How am I supposed to care for these until ready to plant.

This is the picture that was provided and how they are supposed to be when I get them. To me if they are already sprouting and growing they will need planted but the frost will certainly kill them ?

What do I not know about handling or growing onion plants that look like these.
