I hope you are being fairly compensated for the nutrients removed in the stalks. This chart shows a removal difference of 185 lb potassium per acre for the yield levels given between shelled corn and silage..

Potash is typically 60% potassium. So 185 lb potassium is 185 divided by 0.60 or 308 lb of potash. What is your local price of potash? If $240/ton, the extra potassium removal alone is worth $37 per acre. I did not do the math for phosphorous.
