Subject: RE: Trump Proposes 33% Cut in Crop Insurance

Crop insurance is a tool. Sounds like
Some here thinks it costs too much,
Then why are you buying it ??

That nasty ole banker tells you so ?

In today's environment of high input costs,
Increasing cost of living, and low commodity
Prices, it is prudent to be able to lay off
Risks. Crop insurance allows you to
Do that. As yourself.....if there was
A drought this year, how would that
Impact you ? What if you only produced
15% of normal ?
Crop insurance also allows you to do
Marketing. If you can get a price that
Is good for you, the crop insurance will
"Back you up" to your selected election
Level.
Another factor in crop insurance (which they also
Want to get rid of) is the harvest price option.
If there is a diaster, the commodity ""usually""
Goes up in price. In this instance, you have
Little if any crop to sell, and you are not
Getting harvest price, which should be higher.

As for the idea the marginal ground is making
Crop insurance high, while that does have
An impact, it's not as large as you think.
There is a "base cost", then a factor
Is the aph. As the aph goes down, the
Cost of insurance goes up.

I guess if you think it cost too much,
It's not worth carrying, or just oppose
It, you don't have to buy it, but don't
Cuss the other man who is trying to
Manage his operation the best they
Can and utilizing all tools available.

I guess if want to get down to the
Nitty gritty, and worried about people
Being subsided, perhaps fmha needs
To be brought up...cheaper interest
Rates, they guarantee the loan to the
Bank...there is a cost associated.
But, they are also a tool available
For use.
