Camp Douglas Wi. 40miles nw of wi. dells | Had both my knees replaced at 60 years old in 2012, left in June, right in November.
I did the pre surgery exercise, after in recovering had the thing-ma-gig to suck on for my lungs and thing on my calfs pumping to keep from blood clod ding.
Day after surgery had me in rehab, I actually enjoyed rehab, gave me something to do as I couldn't do anything else, I would go to therapy come home, rest some and do therapy on my own twice what they told me to do. Had same therapist for both knee,s.
First 3 weeks just suck, 4-6 weeks the pain goes away and you more flexible, after 6 weeks I was steady walking on flat surface. At 3 months everything was good, they did tell my it would take 1 year to be completely healed and they were right.
After couple years I could kneel on soft dirt, grass, pads for a minute or two but that's all.
Edit; If your Dad does his therapy he will be a happy man.
