East Palestine, Ohio (Columbiana Co.) | You must be talking about SRW, which, here in Ohio, we are awash in supply.The elevators around here say that SRW price needs to be split out of the CBOT price because they presently don't acknowledge the fact that the board price is causing more acres to be planted even though they aren't needed. The elevator guys here say a SRW price crash is coming. Right now were dealing with -.85 here. '08 and '09 are both a little over 4$, and I've got some targets set hopefully get some sold real soon. I don't know where the top is, but 4$ ain't a bad price for wheat around these parts, anyways.
"Here" if your going to do any good selling wheat, you need to contract ahead, as cash at harvest price,(using this year as example) is terrible!
Got down to less than 2.50 per bu., and about half the local mills didn't even want to accept wheat and offered NO storage options PERIOD!
That's the way the game is being played in NEOH these days anyways......
