West Central Missouri | I've got a guy asking about SeedCommand (section control, monitoring, and hydraulic drive) on a Deere 1790 planter.
The planter has 2 hydraulic drives. That end of things is pretty straightforward. No questions there.
The current planter control system is unknown to me. Looks like whatever is the factory John Deere equipment. I don't yet know if this will be relevant
It's a 24 row 15 inch planter. It has the cable drives, and there's wires on each of them that look like they go to an electric disconnect. I've done a lot of this, but this is my first time with a Deere 1790. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Since there appears to be shutoffs on each row, is there an adapter harness to allow Ag Leader modules (clutch and seed monitor) to use the factory wiring? That would sure be a whole lot easier than installing a whole new cable set.
Further muddying the waters, this planter appears to have load sensors on a few rows, which would indicate the current control system is controlling an active pneumatic downforce system. Can this system be kept in operation if an Ag Leader system relieves it of clutching and monitoring responsibilities?
