Subject: RE: Market driven cover cropping

Coaldale, Alberta, Canada

We use market driven cover cropping already. We are using it to make nutrients more available, keep fields cleaner without to many outside inputs, etc. We have lots to learn, but are convinced already that over the long term (10 years+), we will be better off financially as well.

A big dis-incentive to long term practices is government-subsidized crop insurance and short-term viewpoints in the land-rental game. (These two are related)
