East Central SD | Don't buy a new strip tiller if you have never tried it before. Maybe hire some done first. Rented acres strips make more sense than owned acres due to banding and fertilizer savings. Strips are a good transition from conventional to notill but probably not necessary after your conversion unless you want to do corn on corn. I do have some trials out for this year because I don't think I have been seeing a return to strips.
Having a planter set up for notill is critical for whatever you do is my opinion. | |
